Practical professional development that teachers will love!

As a former HS science teacher, I sat through plenty of boring, uninspiring professional development workshops. When I began offering PD for teachers, I set out to raise the bar by providing useful, timely training that teachers actually enjoy.

My formula for offering quality professional development is pretty straight forward:

• Share strategies that are classroom tested
• Include lots of REAL classroom examples and resources
• Give teachers TIME to practice and explore
• Share FREE resources and lesson templates

Session Topics

My area of expertise is Google Workspace for Education, Chromebooks, and related web-based tools. Here is a list of some of my most popular sessions:

These sessions can be delivered in-person OR as webinars. Each session can be adjusted to fit a 1-hour, half-day (3 hour) or combined into a full day (6 hour) format. 

🆕 NEW for 2025: The use and integration of AI in the classroom is a 🌶️ hot topic right now. For the past 18 months I have been carefully researching and experimenting with many AI tools. I am happy to offer a series of AI-themed sessions for teachers and school administrators with a focus on practical ideas for approaching AI in the classroom. 

🔰 Getting Started Sessions

These foundational sessions will help teachers understand and master the core elements of Google Workspace for Education and are useful for both in-person and virtual classrooms. 

💻 Teaching with Chromebooks

These sessions will introduce teachers to the features and potential of their classroom Chromebooks. It is recommended that teachers have an opportunity to use a Chromebook during these sessions to fully explore the capabilities of the device. 

💡 Getting Comfortable Sessions

These sessions are recommended for teachers who are comfortable using tools like Google Classroom and Drive and are looking for opportunities to improve and enhance their instructional practices.

🤖 AI in Education

The introduction of generative AI tools like Chat GPT and Google Gemini present new opportunities and challenges for classroom teachers and school administrators. This workshop series will equip educators with hands-on experience using AI tools AND address key questions about teacher and student use of AI.

🏆 Master Teacher Sessions

These sessions are recommended for teachers who are comfortable working with Google Classroom and Drive. Each session will explore advanced ideas for creating engaging activities using Google Drive.

Having the right tools is the first step to engaging and challenging students. These sessions are recommended for teachers who are comfortable working with Google Classroom and managing an online class. Each session will explore a different tool that can be used to engage and challenge students. These tools are free to use and are fully compatible with Google Classroom.

👑 Master your subject area

It’s tough to stay current on the latest technology trends and tools. These subject-specific sessions will introduce you to the top web-based tools for bringing your subject area to life! I guarantee that you’ll discover a new tool that you can use right away in your classroom! 

In Person or virtual? 

Finding the time to offer professional development to your instructional staff is challenging which is why I am happy to offer both in-personal virtual professional development. There are benefits and disadvantages to both forms of instruction:

Virtual PD:

• Ideal for advanced topics
• Ideal for deeper investigations of a topic
• Can be broken down into multiple sessions
• Can be scheduled at convenient times of the day
• Recorded for on-demand viewing

In-person PD:

• Ideal for introducing new tools or skills
• Offers longer, in-depth exploration in one setting
• Encourages conversation and discussion

Most of my workshops can be delivered virtually or in-person. My virtual sessions are a maximum of 90-minutes long. Some topics will require multiple sessions. I offer a slight discount (20%) for virtual sessions to account for travel savings.
